• Immunogen: A synthetic peptide made to a region of human Tankyrase within residues 250-350 [UniProt# O95271]. The actual peptide sequence is proprietary.
• Localization: Cytoplasmic. A minor proportion is also found at nuclear pore complexes and around the pericentriolar matrix of mitotic centromeres. During interphase, a small fraction of Tankyrase is found in the nucleus, associated with TRF1.

Background

The ~142 kDa Tankyrase protein is ubiquitously expressed in mammalian cells and is localized to human telomeres. It has homology to ankyrins and to the catalytic domain of poly (adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerase (PARP). Tankyrase binds to TRF1 (telomeric repeat binding factor-1), which negatively regulates the maintenance of telomere length.
