Western Blot: STAT4 Antibody [NBP1-49836] - HEK293 lysate (10ug protein in RIPA buffer) overexpressing Human STAT4 (RC206892) with C-terminal MYC tag probed with EB09861 (0.5ug/ml) in Lane A and probed with anti-MYC Tag (1/1000) in lane C. Mock-transfected HEK293 probed with EB09861 (1mg/ml) in Lane B. Primary incubations were for 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence.

Background

STAT 4 is an 86 kD member of the STAT (signal transducer and activators of transcription) protein family that is phosphorylated in response to cytokine receptor-associated kinase activity. Phosphorylation of STAT 4 induces nuclear translocation to activate transcription. STAT 4 is expressed NK cells, T lymphocytes, follicular lymphomas, and placenta. STAT 4 forms both homo- and heterotrimers and is essential for IL-12 responses and the regulation of T helper cell differentiation. STAT 4 interacts directly with the IL-12 receptor and becomes phosphorylated in response to IL-12 and IFN-alpha signaling. The Poly6100 antibody recognizes the N-terminal region of human STAT4 and has been shown to be useful for Western blotting. Interacts directly with IL-12 receptor
