• Application Notes: WB: Preliminary experiments gave an approx. 38 kDa band in mouse Fetal brain lysates after 1 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 28.6 kDa band according to NP_009015.1. The 38 kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Background

SRY-related HMG-box (SOX) genes encode a family of DNA-binding proteins containing a 79-amino acid HMG (high mobility group) domain that shares at least 50% sequence identity with the DNA-binding HMG box of the SRY protein (MIM 480000). SOX proteins are divided into 6 subgroups based on sequence similarity within and outside of the HMG domain.
