Western Blot: ROCK2 Antibody (A9W4) [NBP2-29776] - PC12 cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF, and probed with anti-ROKalpha /ROCK-II, clone A9W4 (1:500 dilution). Proteins were visualized using an anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates ROKalpha / ROCK-II (~150 kDa).

Background

Rho-Associated Kinase (Rho-Kinase or ROK) has been classified into two isoforms: ROKAlpha /ROCK-II and ROKBeta /ROCK-I. These large cellular proteins (150-160 kDa), have been reported to be involved in the formation of stress fibers, focal adhesions and cardiac hypertonic responses. Current research suggests that ROK of smooth muscle may be involved in the contractile process via phosphorylation of MYPT1 and Myosin.
