This Rad51D (5B3/6) antibody is useful for Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence and Western blot, where a band can be seen at ~40 kDa. The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.
Theoretical MW
40 kDa. Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

Background
Five human RAD51 homologues have been identified: XRCC2, XRCC3, RAD51B, RAD51C, and RAD51D. Each of these homologues interacts with one or more of the others, with all of the proteins involved in one complex or multiple smaller complexes. RAD51D interacts with XRCC2 and RAD51C (1). RAD51D's expression pattern and sequence similarity to other RAD51 family members most likely make it part of a complex of proteins required for DNA repair and meiotic recombination.
