Background

PGES-1 is a membrane associated protein involved in eicosanoid and glutathione metabolism as part of the arachidonic acid signaling pathway. The expression of this protein is induced by the proinflammatory cytokine IL-1B and its' activity is glutathione dependent. PGES is also expressed at high levels in P53 expressing cells.

1. I am looking to use this antibody (PTGES NB110-39058) on opossum - Monodelphis domestica - for both Immunohistochemistry in paraffin embedded tissues and in western blotting. I was hoping that you could provide me with a more specific amino acid sequence to Blast. Does the percentage in parentheses next to Opossum on the datasheet indicate the homology between the antibody sequence and that of opossum when aligned?
   • The 100% homology does refer to the immunogen sequence and the opossum sequence of the 14 amino acids. I am afraid we do not have access to the actual sequence since the inventor holds the information as proprietary. This antibody has not been validated in western blot but it is guaranteed to work in IHC-P.
