Background

Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from bothfunctional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heartrate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cellvolume.
