• Background: The Quantikine PDGF-CC Immunoassay is a 4.5 hour solid phase ELISA designed to measure human PDGF-CC in cell culture supernates, serum, and platelet-poor plasma. It contains E. coli-expressed recombinant human PDGF-CC and has been shown to accurately quantitate the recombinant factor. Results obtained using natural human PDGF-CC showed linear curves that were parallel to the standard curves ...obtained using the recombinant Quantikine kit standards. These results indicate that this kit can be used to determine relative mass values for natural human PDGF-CC.

Background

Platelet-derived growth factor C (PDGF-C), also known as SCDGF and follotain, plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, mesenchymal cell proliferation, migration, and survival. It is required for skeleton formation, skin morphogenesis, angiogenesis, blood vessel development, and fibrotic processes. PDGF-C forms disulfide linked dimers which signal through PDGF R alpha homodimeric receptors and PDGF R alpha/beta heterodimeric receptors.
