Background

Fli-1 is a member of the ETS family of transcription factors and contains a sequence-specific DNA-binding domain. First identified as a proto-oncogene, Fli1 is normally expressed in hematopoietic tissues, as well as lung, heart and ovary. During lymphoid development, Fli-1 is expressed highly in mature B cells, pre-T cells, and resting, mature T cells (1). Defects in Fli-1 are a cause of Ewing sarcoma (ES) (2).
