E-Selectin/CD62E Antibody (UZ4) Summary

• Description: The antibody is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at 4C. For prolonged storage prepare appropriate aliquots and store at or below -20C. Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly in the dark at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at 4C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance or the concentration of the product.
• Immunogen: Derived by fusion of SP2/0 Mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a Lewis Rat immunized with LPS-activated mlEND1 cells expressing E-selectin at their cell surface.
• Specificity: This antibody recognizes the minimal amino acid consensus sequence CXKKKL present in the lectin domain of both murine and Human E-Selectin/CD62E.

Background

E-Selectin, also known as Endothelial Leukocyte Adhesion Molecule 1 (ELAM-1), and Leukocyte-Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule 2 (LECAM-2), has been designated CD62E. It is a cell-surface glycoprotein expressed by activated endothelium and it mediates the adhesion of blood neutrophils.
