Background
This gene encodes a member of the membrane fatty acid desaturase family which is responsible for inserting double bonds into specific positions in fatty acids. This protein contains three His-containing consensus motifs that are characteristic of a group of membrane fatty acid desaturases. It is predicted to be a multiple membrane-spanning protein localized to the endoplasmic reticulum. Overexpression of this gene inhibited biosynthesis of the EGF receptor, suggesting a possible role of a fatty acid desaturase in regulating biosynthetic processing of the EGF receptor. Two splice variants have been identified. [provided by RefSeq]

We would like to remove the GST fusion from the DEGS1 recombinant purified protein (H00008560-P01). Can you tell us how to do this (protease digest site) and reference any relevant products we can purchase to remove it?
- The recombinant protein you are referring to is an Abnova product, a company based in Taiwan. Please see our GST tag removal protocol. They were unable to pinpoint a specific method for GST tag removal being more advantagous to another so I would invite you to visit our website via the link I provided you exploring that option.

I'm currently using your recombinant degs1 (H00008560-P01) in an enzyme assay, and I need to get the GST tag alone to confirm its activity as a negative control. Since you have 29 GST tags available, I'm not sure which you used for this protein. Can you tell me which one to purchase for a proper control? Also, would it be possible to purchase the vector with this degs1-gst fusion construct?
- We distribute H00008560-P01 for Abnova, a company based in Taiwan. Are you looking for an antibody for a GST tag or a recombinant GST tag protein? Abnova considers the protein sequence of their GST tag to be proprietary, and will not release this information, but they do have an antibody specific for their GST tag, MAB0042-M01. Unfortunately, Abnova does not sell the vectors for any of their proteins.
