Cytokeratin 19 Antibody (BA17) Summary

Immunogen
Human mammary epithelial organoids
Localization
Cytoplasmic
Marker
Pancreatic Stem Cell Marker
Specificity
This Ab reacts with the rod domain of human cytokeratin 19 (CK19), a polypeptide of 40kDa. CK19 is expressed in sweat gland, mammary gland ductal and secretory cells, bile ducts, gastrointestinal tract, bladder urothelium, oral epithelia, esophagus, and ectocervical epithelium. Anti-CK19 reacts with a wide variety of epithelial malignancies including adenocarcinomas of the colon, stomach, pancreas, biliary tract, liver, and breast. Perhaps the most useful application is the identification of thyroid carcinoma of the papillary type, although 50%-60% of follicular carcinomas are also labeled. Anti-CK19 is a useful marker for detection of tumor cells in lymph nodes, peripheral blood, bone marrow and breast cancer.

Background

Cytokeratin 19 (also known as Keratin, type I cytoskeletal 19) belongs to the keratin family which consists of fibrous proteins that make up the framework of epithelial cells. Cytokeratin 19 plays a role in the organization of myofibers. This protein is known to have interactions with ZNF638, FANCG, FAM107A, KRT15 and EXOC8. Cytokeratin 19 has been studied in relation to several disorders and diseases including chordoma, adenoma, hamartoma, adenoiditis, carcinoma, and liver disease.

FAQs for Cytokeratin 19 Antibody (NBP2-34271). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQ).

  1. We regularly use Cytokeratin 19 Antibody (BA17) [NBP2-34271][Allophycocyanin], however, the volumen on packaging of this antibody often changes (0.1 ml or 0.15 ml or 0.210 ml). So we want to know the exact concentration to ensure the consistency of the experiment.
    • All of our directly conjugated antibodies are made to order and we do not keep any in stock and the concentrations will always vary batch to batch. The final concentration will be determined upon completion and entered on the product label. Most concentrations will fall between 0.6 - 1.0 mg/ml; with the exception of APC which typically ranges between 0.3 - 0.5 mg/ml. Especially for APC conjugates, the concentrations can vary from lot to lot and thus there will be a different volume supplied. The vial labels will have the recommended dilutions to use based off the labs expertise (ie 1-2 ul per test, or 2-4 ul per test). Each vial will contact enough for roughly the same amount of tests.
