Background

DAND5, also known as DAN domain family member 5, is a 20 kDa 189 amino acid protein that forms homodimers and heterodimers as a member of the BMP antagonist family. Current research involving the protein includes connections with syrigoma, myopia, norrie disease, astigmatism, and carcinoma. The protein also plays important roles in tissue growth and differentiation pathways.
