Background

Stage-specific mouse embryonic antigen (SSEA1), also known as CD15, is a carbohydrate adhesion molecule (not a protein) that can be expressed on glycoproteins, glycolipids and proteoglycans. This cell-surface antigen is involved in cell differentiation. Cell surface antigens are powerful tools for characterizing the function and expression of developmentally regulated cells during both embryogenesis and oncogenesis. CD15 is a SSEA1 antibodies are useful tools for differentiation studies and FACS analysis.
