Flow Cytometry: Butyrylcholinesterase/BCHE Antibody (OTI1E1) [NBP2-66381] - HEK293T cells transfected with either RC202198 overexpress plasmid(Red) or empty vector control plasmid(Blue) were immunostained by anti-BCHE antibody, and then analyzed by flow cytometry.

Western Blot: Butyrylcholinesterase/BCHE Antibody (OTI1E1) [NBP2-66381] - HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY BCHE (Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-BCHE.

Background

Mutant alleles at the BCHE locus are responsible for suxamethonium sensitivity. Homozygous persons sustain prolonged apnea after administration of the muscle relaxant suxamethonium in connection with surgical anesthesia. The activity of pseudocholinesterase in the serum is low and its substrate behavior is atypical. In the absence of the relaxant, the homozygote is at no known disadvantage. [provided by RefSeq].
