Background

AGR3 is a gene that encodes Anterior Gradient Homolog 3, a protein associated with breast cancer. Also known as Breat Cancer Membrane Protein 11, AG3 has a positive correlation with the expression of estrogen receptor. Its expression is negatively correlated with the expression of the EGF receptor. Because it is expressed in nearly three-quarters of breast cancer cells, it has high potential as a target for breast cancer therapy.
