Before incubation with the primary antibody, tissue was subjected to heat-induced epitope retrieval using Antigen Retrieval Reagent-Basic (Catalog # CTS013). Tissue was stained using DAB (brown) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to neuronal processes. Background

Human 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1D, or 5-HT1D, is a G-protein coupled receptor for serotonin. 5-HT1D also functions as a receptor for ergot alkaloid derivatives, various anxiolytic and antidepressant drugs and other psychoactive substances. Ligand binding causes a conformation changes in a typical G-protein/adenylate cyclase fashion.
