The cisplatin resistant CAL27cis & Detroit‐562cis cells had increased IL‐6 mRNA & IL‐6 protein production compared to parental cells by qRT‐PCR & ELISA (A, B). CAL27cis & Detroit‐562cis were cultured with IL‐6 (10 ng/mL, human recombinant IL‐6, R&D Systems, Minneapolis, USA) for 48 h (C). An anti‐human IL‐6 polyclonal antibody (R&D Systems, Minneapolis, USA) was used to neutralize the biological activities of IL‐6 (E, F). Whole slide scanning and capturing of representative images was performed using Aperio AT2 (Leica Biosystems). Nuclear staining was observed.
