• Application Notes: Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:16000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 38kDa band in human skin lysates after 1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 90.6kDa according to NP_659505.1. The 38kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported?

Background

Transient receptor potential (TRP) proteins are cation selective channels that function in processes as diverse as sensation and vasoregulation. TRPV3 is a receptor activated non selective calcium permeant cation channel that is activated by innocuous (warm) temperatures and shows an increased response at noxious temperatures greater than 39 degrees Celsius. TRPV3 is expressed in skin, tongue, dorsal root ganglion, trigeminal ganglion, spinal cord and brain and is thermosensitive in the physiological range of temperatures between TRPM8 and TRPV1.
