SUMO1 Antibody (SJ20-03)

Western Blot: SUMO1 Antibody (SJ20-03) [NBP2-67419] - Analysis of SUMO-1 on Hela cell lysates. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA in PBS for 1 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (1/500) was used in 5% BSA at room temperature for 2 hours. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody at 1:5,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature.

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: SUMO1 Antibody (SJ20-03) [NBP2-67419] - Staining SUMO-1 in MCF-7 cells (green). The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue). Cells were fixed in paraformaldehyde, permeabilised with 0.25% Triton X100/PBS.

Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin: SUMO1 Antibody (SJ20-03) [NBP2-67419] - Analysis of paraffin-embedded mouse esophagus tissue with Rabbit anti-SUMO1 antibody washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with the primary antibody at 1/500 dilution for 1 hour at room temperature. The detection was performed using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. Tissues were counterstained with hematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

Flow Cytometry: SUMO1 Antibody (SJ20-03) [NBP2-67419] - Analysis of Hela cells with SUMO-1 antibody at 1/50 dilution (blue) compared with an unlabelled control (cells without incubation with primary antibody; red). Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated goat anti rabbit IgG was used as the secondary antibody.

Background

Sumo 1 is a ubiquitin-like protein which binds to a wide range of target proteins. Does not seem to be involved in protein degradation and may function as an antagonist of ubiquitin in the degradation process. Plays a role in a number of cellular processes such as nuclear transport, DNA replication and repair, mitosis and signal transduction. Involved in targeting RANGAP1 to the nuclear pore complex protein RANBP2. SUMO 1 is also known to form a complex with RanGAP1.
