SSH1 [p Ser978] Antibody Summary
| Description |
Stable for at least 1 year at -20°C. |
| Immunogen |
SSH1 (Ser-978) antibody was generated from a phospho-peptide that included amino acids surrounding serine 978 in human SSH1. This sequence has high homology to the conserved site in rat, mouse, chicken, and zebrafish SSH1L. The sequence also has high homology to the conserved site in SSH2L (Ser-1259). [UniProt# Q8WYL5] |
| Modification |
p Ser978 |
| Specificity |
The antibody detects a 150 kDa full length recombinant human SSH1 phosphoprotein and this reactivity is eliminated with lambda phosphatase treatment. The antibody also detects SSH1 on immunoblots of rat PC12 and mouse C2C12 cells that were stimulated with calyculin A. |

Background
SSH1, also known as slingshot, is a phosphatase that functions to activate the actin severing protein, ADF/cofilin, and influence actin dynamics. There are three members of the slingshot family, SSH1, SSH2, and SSH3. SSH1 has been shown to function downstream of alpha6beta4 integrin/Rac1 signaling in conjunction with 14-3-3 association.
Limitations
