Background

RPLP2, also known as 60S acidic ribosomal protein P2, is a 12kDa 115 amino acid protein. Throughout protein synthesis RPLP2 plays a significant role during elongation. Current research is being conducted on RPLP2 in relation to colorectal cancer, osteosarcoma, pancreatitis, malaria, carcinoma and cysticercosis. RPLP2 has been linked to the virulence, proteolysis, cell death and transport pathways where it interacts with IKBKG, NFKB2, MAP3K1, MAP3K14 and RELB.
