Background

Plasminogen, a 92kDa glycoprotein, is produced by the liver and is present in plasma and extracellular fluids. Plasminogen is the inactive precursor of plasmin, a potent serine protease involved in the dissolution of fibrin blood clots. Plasminogen can be converted into the active plasmin by plasminogen activators urokinase (uPA), tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), factor XII-dependent components. The plasmin system has been implicated in a variety of physiological and pathological processes such as fibrinolysis, tissue remodeling, cell migration, inflammation, and tumor invasion and metastasis. Hereditary defects of plasminogen are a predisposing risk factor for thromboembolic disease.

1. What is the difference between your Human Plasminogen ELISA kits NBP2-60521, NBP2-60515 and NBP2-61297? Also, have these been tested for reactivity against plasmin?
   • Our Human Plasminogen ELISA kits NBP2-60521, NBP2-60515 and NBP2-61297 are all colorimeteric ELISA kits. However, these kits are different in reference to the suitable sample type, sensitivity, detection range etc. NBP2-61297 is a Competitive ELISA kit while the other two are Sandwich ELISA based. Also, NBP2-60521 is a mouse reactive kit while the other two are good for human samples. 
2. What is the difference between the Quantikine and Duoset ELISA kits?
   • Our Quantikine kits are fully optimized and validated for the sample types listed on the product specific webpage and datasheet, as this can vary between kits. Each kit is supplied ready to use with one pre-coated 96-well plate, a detection antibody directly conjugated to HRP, and all other necessary reagents. These kits are ideal for researchers who want the convenience of a ready to use and optimized ELISA product.
