Belonging to the NEK Ser/Thr protein kinase family, NEK4 plays a significant role in the cell cycle, cell division, mitosis and protein phosphorylation process. More specifically, NEK4 can be found in the nucleus, and acts exclusively upon threonine residues. Molecular Functions of NEK4 include ATP binding, metal ion binding and protein serine/threonine kinase activity.
