Background

FYCO1, Fyve and Coiled-Coil domain-containing 1, is a gene that is lost in chromosomal deletions in nearly all types of solid tumors. FYCO1 forms a complex with LC3 and Rab7 that promotes microtubule plus end-directed transport of autophagic vesicles. It is possible that FYCO1 has membrane-tethering functions as well.
