Human Flt-3 Ligand Biologically Active Protein Summary

A single glycosylated polypeptide chain protein corresponding to amino acids Gly27 - Arg188 of FLT3LG.

Source: Mouse myeloma cell line, NS0

Lyophilized from 0.2 mm filtered concentrated solution in 50% acetonitrile and 0.1% TFA.
Details of Functionality
The ED50, as determined by a cell proliferation assay using Flt-3 transfected murine BaF3 cells, is less than 4 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Note
Less than 1 EU/mg of the rMuFlt-3 Ligand as determined by LAL method.

Packaging, Storage & Formulations

Store at 4C short term. Aliquot and store at -20C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution Instructions
Reconstitute with PBS to a final concentration of 0.05 mg/ml.

Theoretical MW
Between 18-32 due to varying glycosylation kDa

This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 degrees C, but should be kept at -20 degrees C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is most stable at -20 to -80 degrees C, and can be stored for one week at 2-8 degrees C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20 degrees C to -80 degrees C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Flt-3 Ligand promotes the differentiation of multiple hematopoietic cell lineages. Flt-3 Ligand is expressed as a noncovalently-linked dimer by T cells and bone marrow and thymic fibroblasts. Both transmembrane and soluble forms of Flt-3 Ligand signal through the tyrosine kinase receptor Flt-3/Flk-2. Flt-3 Ligand induces the expansion of monocytes and immature dendritic cells, B cell differentiation, NK cell development, and myeloid differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells. The mouse and human proteins show cross-species activity.
