Background
FASTKD2 codes for a protien with two isoforms, one that has a length of 710 amino acids and a mass of approximately 81 kDa, with a shorter isoform with a length of 648 amino acids and a weight of approximately 75 kDa, and both isoforms code for a protein that may play a role in mitochondrial apoptosis. Current studies have been done on diseases and disorders relating to this gene, including breast cancer. FASTKD2 has also been shown to have interactions with ICT1, MYC, PHLDA3, TRAF6, and TSC22D1.
