Background
CREB (cyclic-AMP response element binding) belongs to bZIP family of transcription factors which acts as a conduit between upstream signalling kinases and downstream target-gene transcription. Following Ser 133 phosphorylation mediated activation; CREB dimerizes for binding to CRE motifs on promoters containing consensus sequence TGACGTCA and together with its anchoring binding partner CBP, pCREB up-regulates transcription of target genes. CREB mediated transcription activation is also enhanced by transducers of regulated CREB (TORC) coactivators which act independently of Ser-133 phosphorylation. CREB's target genes include its family members (CREM, ICER and ATF) and these paralogs/homologs of CREB bind CRE elements to modulate the transcription of particular genes and CREB transcriptional regulation is involved in cell survival, plasticity, learning/memory paradigms, synchronization of circadian rhythmicity and adipose cells differentiation. Over-expression of CREB in transgenic animals can impart oncogenic properties on cells in various tissues and that aberrant CREB expression is associated with human malignancies. Moreover, defects in CREB1 have been linked to angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma (AFH).

May I know which creb1 antibody is good for ChIP? I found a paper using your rabbit polyclonal creb1 antibody for ChIP but they didn't indicate the catalog number.
- We are not aware of any of our Creb1 antibodies being used in ChIP at this time. If you can provide us with the PMID of the paper you are referring to I can contact the author. Otherwise, you can use our Innovators Reward Program to try an antibody in a novel species and application.
