• Application Notes: WB: Preliminary experiments gave an approx. 45 kDa band in human kidney lysates after 1 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 63.5 kDa band according to NP_001011719.1. The 45 kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Background

Sulfatases, such as ARSH, hydrolyze sulfate esters from sulfated steroids, carbohydrates, proteoglycans, and glycolipids. They are involved in hormone biosynthesis, modulation of cell signaling, and degradation of macromolecules (Sardiello et al., 2005 [PubMed 16174644]).
