Background

HIV-1, the causative agent of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), contains an RNA genome that produces a chromosomally integrated DNA during the replicative cycle. Activation of HIV-1 gene expression by the transactivator Tat is dependent on an RNA regulatory element (TAR) located downstream of the transcription initiation site. This element forms a stable stem-loop structure and can be bound by either the protein encoded by this gene or by RNA polymerase II. This protein may act to disengage RNA polymerase II from TAR during transcriptional elongation. Alternatively spliced transcripts of this gene may exist, but their full-length natures have not been determined.

Limitations

FAQs for TARBP1 Antibody (30720002). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQs).

  1. We want to use this antibody for IHC. When we tried to use another antibody from your company (NBP1-03040), the specificity was not enough (evaluated by western blotting by ourselves). Is the specificity of this antibody better than the other antibodies? Could you give me the raw data of IHC and WB?
    • We regrettably will be removing all applications with exception of ELISA from this product, as SDIX, the manufacturer of this antibody, has only validated this antibody in that application. They unfortunately have not tested this product in WB or IHC-P. We do have one other product to this product that works in paraffin-embedded tissues samples (catalog # NBP1-86902). This product has been tested in human duodenum samples.
