Background

SLC25A36, also known as Solute carrier family 25 member 36, has 311 amino acid isoform that is 34 kDa, a 132 amino acid isoform that is 14 kDa, a 310 amino acid isoform that is 34 kDa, and a 154 amino acid long isoform that is 17 kDa; is located in mitochondrion inner membrane, belongs to mitochondrial carrier family and it is a multi-pass membrane protein with unknown function. This protein is associated with multiple sclerosis, glaucoma and breast cancer. Interactions with the SLC25A36 protein have been shown to involve PTN, XPNPEP3, CAMKK2, ICK and PRKACB in transport, response to estradiol stimulus, and transmembrane transport.
