MMP-10 Antibody [CoraFluor™ 1] Summary

• Description: CoraFluor(TM) 1 is a high performance terbium-based TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) or TRF (Time-Resolved Fluorescence) donor for high throughput assay development. CoraFluor(TM) 1 absorbs UV light at approximately 340 nm, and emits at approximately 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. It is compatible with common acceptor dyes that absorb at the emission wavelengths of CoraFluor(TM) 1. CoraFluor(TM) 1 can be used for the development of robust and scalable TR-FRET binding assays such as target engagement, ternary complex, protein-protein interaction and protein quantification assays.

• Specificity: Detects human MMP-10 in Western blots. In Western blots, approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) MMP‑3 and rhMMP‑7 is observed under non-reducing conditions. Approximately 10% and 2% cross-reactivity with rhMMP-3 and rhMMP-2 is observed under reducing conditions, respectively. Additionally, less than 1% cross-reactivity with rhMMP-1, -8, -9, -12, -13, and recombinant mouse MMP-9 is observed under reducing and non-reducing conditions.

Background

Matrix metalloproteinases belong to a family of proteases that are essential for the breakdown of extracellular matrix (ECM), thus they play an important role in apoptosis, and tumor cell growth, invasion, metastasis, as well as in angiogenesis and wound healing. Most of the MMP's contain a common domain structures, which include a signal sequence, a propeptide, a catalytic domain and a hemopexin-like (Hpx) domain. MMP10 belongs to the Stromelysin group of proteases. Stromelysins degrade ECM proteoglycans, laminin, fibronectin and gelatin.
