Western Blot: EFTUD1 Antibody [NBP2-76364] - Samples: Whole cell lysate (50 ug) from RKO, Jurkat, A-549, mouse TCMK-1, and mouse NIH 3T3 cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibody: Affinity purified rabbit anti-EFTUD1 antibody NBP2-76364 used for WB at 1:1000. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Immunoprecipitation: EFTUD1 Antibody [NBP2-76364] - Samples: Whole cell lysate (1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from RKO cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-EFTUD1 antibody NBP2-76364 used for IP at 100 ul per reaction. EFTUD1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-EFTUD1 antibody NBP2-76363. For blotting immunoprecipitated EFTUD1, NBP2-76364 was used at 1:1000. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 seconds.

Background

EFTUD1 is involved in the biogenesis of the 60S ribosomal subunit and translational activation of ribosomes. Together with SBDS, triggers the GTP-dependent release of EIF6 from 60S pre-ribosomes in the cytoplasm, thereby activating ribosomes for translation competence by allowing 80S ribosome assembly and facilitating EIF6 recycling to the nucleus, where it is required for 60S rRNA processing and nuclear export. Has low intrinsic GTPase activity. GTPase activity is increased by contact with 60S ribosome subunits.
