This Cav1.2 antibody is useful for Blocking/Neutralizing, Western blot and Immunoprecipitation. In WB a band can be seen at ~250 kDa. The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

Background
CACNA1C encodes an alpha-1 subunit of a voltage-dependent calcium channel. Calcium channels mediate the influx of calcium ions into the cell upon membrane polarization. The alpha-1 subunit consists of 24 transmembrane segments and forms the pore through which ions pass into the cell. The calcium channel consists of a complex of alpha-1, alpha-2/delta, beta, and gamma subunits in a 1:1:1:1 ratio. There are multiple isoforms of each of these proteins, either encoded by different genes or the result of alternative splicing of transcripts. The protein encoded by CACNA1C this gene binds to and is inhibited by dihydropyridine. Alternative splicing results in many transcript variants encoding different proteins.

FAQs for Cav1.2 Antibody (NBP1-42820). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQ).
For the anti-Cav1.2 antibody NBP1-42820, would you be able to provide additional details regarding the testing done in WB applications?
This antibody was tested in western blot with NG108 cell lysate. The protein is also expressed in brain, heart, jejunum, ovary, pancreatic beta-cells and vascular smooth muscle tissue. Lysates from these tissues should provide a good positive control for testing this product.
The concentration calculator allows you to quickly calculate the volume, mass or concentration of your vial. Simply enter your mass, volume, or concentration values for your reagent and the calculator will determine the rest.
