Background

SH2B, or APS homodimerization and SH2B/APS heterodimerization thus provide direct mechanisms for activating and inhibiting Janus kinase 2. Both SH2B beta and APS may serve as adapter proteins for all three JAKs independent of any role they have in JAK activity. SH2b interacts with fibroblst growth factor 3, and has a role in STAT5 activation.
