Background

PAK5, a PAK (STE20) type protein kinase, contains a N-terminal Cdc42/Rac interactive binding (CRIB) motif and a C-terminal kinase domain. The protein is a target of the Rho GTPases Cdc42 and Rac; however, binding of Cdc42 is not required for kinase activity. PAK5 has been shown to be highly expressed in mammalian brain and pancreas. Very little or no PAK5 has been detected in most other tissues. ESTs have been isolated from several tissue libraries, including normal brain and embryo and cancerous colon and germ cell. Caution: The PAK5 gene also is known as P21-Activated Kinase 7 (PAK7). Additionally, the name PAK5 has been used to refer to a distinct gene, P21-Activated Kinase 6 (PAK6).

1. Could you please let me know if this antibody is very specific to PAK5 only but not PAK4 or PAK 6?
   • The sequence used for immunogen does not have any homology to PAK4 or PAK6. Therefore the antibody would not recognize PAK4 or PAK6.
