MMP-9 Antibody (JA80-73)

Western Blot: MMP-9 Antibody (JA80-73) [NBP2-66955] - Analysis of MMP9 on rat spleen tissue lysates. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA in PBS for 1 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (1/500) was used in 5% BSA at room temperature for 2 hours. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody at 1:5,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature.

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: MMP-9 Antibody (JA80-73) [NBP2-66955] - Staining MMP9 in SHG-44 cells (green). The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue). Cells were fixed in paraformaldehyde, permeabilised with 0.25% Triton X100/PBS.

Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin: MMP-9 Antibody (JA80-73) [NBP2-66955] - Analysis of paraffin-embedded mouse placenta tissue using anti-MMP9 antibody. Counter stained with hematoxylin.

Flow Cytometry: MMP-9 Antibody (JA80-73) [NBP2-66955] - Analysis of A431 cells with MMP9 antibody at 1/100 dilution (red) compared with an unlabelled control (cells without incubation with primary antibody; black).

Background

Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are zinc-dependent endopeptidases that degrade substances within the extracellular matrix. The MMP family includes six different groups of enzymes: collagenases, gelatinases, stromelysins, transmembrane MMPs, matrilysins and others. MMPs are secreted as proenzymes that have to be cleaved in order to be activated. Other MMPs, plasmins as well as other factors activate MMPs. MMPs are thought to play an important role in tissue remodeling associated with various physiological and pathological processes. MMP9 degrades of proteins in the extracellular matrix and activates growth factors like proTGF beta and proTNF alpha. MMP9 contributes to the invasion and metastasis of various human malignancies.
