• Application Notes: WB: Preliminary experiments gave next to 70 kDa band bands at approx. 75 kDa band and 27 kDa band in human kidney and lung lysates after 0.5 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the extra bands we observe given the calculated size of 69.7 kDa band according to NP_116011.1. The detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands).

Background

This gene encodes a membrane-bound protein that is involved in signal transduction and protein interactions. The encoded product is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, which mediates ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of proteins containing phosphotyrosine binding (PTB) domains. This protein may play an important role in tumorogenesis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. A pseudogene, which is located on chromosome 17, has been identified for this gene.
