Background

G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are the largest family of membrane receptors that activate intracellular signaling cascades and undergo endocytosis, recycling, or degradation upon stimulation. KOR-1 inhibits neurotransmitter release by reducing calcium ion currents and increasing potassium ion conductance.
