Background
SUC1 is a CDK subunit from S. pombe that interacts with CDK1. SUC1 is used exclusively to capture CDK1 complexes from various cell lines and egg extracts. SUC1 belongs to the CKS family. It binds to the catalytic subunit of the cyclin dependent kinase (cdc2) and is essential for its biological function. SUC1 forms a homodimer (in presence of zinc).

Regarding NB100-2744, the specificity statement says that this antibody can be used exclusively to capture CDK1 complexes from various cell lines and egg extracts. Does "exclusively" mean to imply that the antibody does not cross-react with CKS2? Is there any data regarding potential cross-reactivity? Also, I am a little bit confused. Isn't this clone (AA10.2) supposed to be an antibody against SUC1? SUC1 interacts with CDK1 and is used exclusively to capture CDK1 complexes from various cell lines and egg extracts. Am I correct in interpreting that antibody NB100-2744 is able to capture CDK1 complexes from various cell lines and egg extracts by virtue of its binding with SUC1 which is complexed with CDK1?
- Yes, you are correct. This antibody will not cross-react with CKS2, and was raised against suc1 (or p13). We sell it as a product to purify CDK1 complexes although it doesn't actually bind CDK1.
