Background

Autocrine motility factor is a tumor motility-stimulating protein secreted by tumor cells. The protein encoded by this gene is a glycosylated transmembrane protein and a receptor for autocrine motility factor. The receptor, which shows some sequence similarity to tumor protein p53, is localized to the leading and trailing edges of carcinoma cells. [provided by RefSeq]

Details:
AMFR/gp78 antibody was used for IHC-P on human primary renal tumors and non neoplastic tissues collected from patients who underwent radical or partial nephrectomy for clear cell-renal cell carcinoma/ccRCC. The assay involved 5um paraffin-embedded tissue sections, microwave based antigen retrieval in citrate buffer 0.01M pH 6.0, use of primary antibody at 1: 100 dilution with 2 hours RT incubation, detection using Real EnVision Detection System -Peroxidase/DAB kit (Figure 4B). The antibody was used in double-staining assays along with Glucose 6 phosphate isomerase/G6PI using Immunofluorescence based detection (Figure 4C). The antibody was used for in vitro functional application also in the wound healing assay wherein the cultured cells were treated with 2ng/ul of antibody for 30 minutes (Figure 5).
