Background

5-oxo-ETE is a potent stimulator of chemotaxis for eosinophils and neutrophils that mediate it's action via a putative G protein coupled receptor [GPCR]. The receptor is highly expressed on eosinophils and neutrophils, suggesting a key role in the inflammatory response and can also be detected in liver and kidney tissue.
