TC21/R-Ras2 Antibody (EM-50) [CoraFluor™ 1] Summary

• Description: CoraFluor(TM) 1 is a high performance terbium-based TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) or TRF (Time-Resolved Fluorescence) donor for high throughput assay development. CoraFluor(IM) 1 absorbs UV light at approximately 340 nm, and emits at approximately 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. It is compatible with common acceptor dyes that absorb at the emission wavelengths of CoraFluor(TM) 1. CoraFluor(TM) 1 can be used for the development of robust and scalable TR-FRET binding assays such as target engagement, ternary complex, protein-protein interaction and protein quantification assays.

• Specificity: The antibody MEM-31 recognizes a conformationally-dependent epitope of CD8, a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes that mediates efficient cell-cell interactions within the immune system. CD8 is a disulfide-linked dimer and exists as a CD8 alpha/alpha homodimer or CD8 alpha/beta heterodimer (each monomer approx. 32-34 kDa). The antibody does not react with formaldehyde-fixed cells; negative in Western Blotting application.

Background

RRAS2 (Related RAS viral oncogene homolog 2) is a member of the Ras superfamily. It is a GTP-binding protein with GTPase activity. It might transduce growth inhibitory signals across the cell membrane, exerting its effect through an effector shared with the Ras proteins. RRAS2 has high oncogenic potential and is mutated in some human tumors and overexpressed in breast cancer cell lines.
