Western Blot: NCOA5 Antibody [NB100-2570] - Whole cell lysate from HeLa (5, 15 and 50 ug for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IPloaded) and HEK293T (T; 50 ug) cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-NCOA5 (CIA) antibody BL2431 used for WB at 0.04 ug/ml (A) and at 1 ug/ml (B) and used for IP at 3 ug/mg lysate (B). NCOA5 (CIA) was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-NCOA5 (CIA) antibody BL2432. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 3 minutes (A) and 30 seconds (B).

Background

NCOA5 is a nuclear receptor coregulator that can have both coactivator and corepressor functions. It interacts with nuclear receptors for steroids (ESR1 and ESR2) independently of the steroid binding domain (AF-2) of the ESR receptors, and with the orphan nuclear receptor NR1D2. It Is also involved in the coactivation of nuclear steroid receptors (ER) as well as the corepression of MYC/c-myc in response to 17-beta-estradiol (E2).
