Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 50kDa band in human and murine brain lysates after 1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 42.8kDa according to NP_071905.3. The 50kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported?

Background

HS1BP3 binds members of the 14-3-3 protein family, which are highly expressed in motor neurons and Purkinje cells and regulate the Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase activation of tyrosine and tryptophan hydroxylase.
