Western blot shows lysates of JEG-3 human epithelial choriocarcinoma cell line and HCT-116 human colorectal carcinoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human FAM3C Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF3084) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF017). A specific band was detected for FAM3C at approximately 22 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background

FAM3C, also known as predicted Osteoblast protein, is a secreted 22 kDa glycoprotein belonging to the cytokine-like protein family. Members of this family share a four helix bundle secondary structure similar to that found in many cytokines. FAM3 is ubiquitously expressed in multiple tissues. The amino acid sequence of mature human FAM3C is 94% and 98% identical to that of mouse and canine FAM3C, respectively.
