Background

C1orf80 acts as a ventralizing factor during embryogenesis. Inhibits axin-mediated JNK activation by binding axin anddisrupting axin homodimerization. This in turn antagonizes a Wnt/beta-catenin-independent dorsalization pathwayactivated by AXIN/JNK-signaling
