Background

The Escherichia coli AlkB protein protects against the cytotoxicity of methylating agents by repair of the specific DNAlesions generated in single-stranded DNA. ALKBH2 and ALKBH3 (MIM 610603) are E. coli AlkB homologs that catalyze theremoval of 1-methyladenine and 3-methylcytosine (Duncan et al., 2002 (PubMed 12486230)).(supplied by OMIM)

Limitations

Molarity Calculator

Calculate the mass, volume, or concentration required for a solution.

The molarity calculator is based on the following equation:

Mass (g) = Concentration (mol/L) x Volume (L) x Molecular Weight (g/mol)

As an example, if the molecular weight of a compound is 197.13 g/mol and the desired concentration is 10 mM for 10 ml of water based stock solution, the required mass would be = 19.713 (value determined by this calculator).
