Background

SR140, also known as U2-associated protein SR140 (U2SURP) is a 118 kDa protein located in the nucleus. SR140 belongs to the splicing factor SR family and has 3 known isoforms that are produced by alternative splicing. The protein amino acid sequence is highly conserved across species and can be heavily phosphorylated, leading to a shift in observed molecular weight.
