Western Blot: Protein Kinase D3 [p Ser916] Antibody (MC29) [NBP2-29674] - Unstimulated (lanes 1 and 3) or PDBu-stimulated(lanes 2 and 4) HEK293 cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti-phospho-PKD (1:2000, lanes 1 and 2) or anti-PKD . Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates phospho-PKD (110 kDa).

Background

There are two PKD isoforms (PKD1 and PKD2) belonging to the polycystin family. These proteins are involved in protein-protein and protein-carbohydrate adhesion. The two isoforms are known to interact, and also thought to be ion channel regulators. Defects in PKD1 have been identified as the cause of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease type I (ADPKD).
